The wind rustled as the darkness began to take over the area. It was time for her to be heading home but she refused to. Her coal eyes gazed up at the sky as it grew darker and darker. The sun was setting and it was such a lovely sight. Izumi, Evil stepped back and took a seat on the bench. It wouldn't hurt to stay here just a little longer because it wasn't like anyone else was here. It there was and they wanted to try something, Evil was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Her hands rested on her lap as she gave a soft sigh. Everything was just so boring latlely. Wasn't there ever going to be anything to do? Other then teaching the kids at the school, and oh how she disliked children. Especially little ones. But it had been the only job she could get a hold of. Why did she have to get stuck being a teacher? Such an annoyance. Hopefully something fun would come along...

The God of the New World was out for a stroll in the park. He liked coming here every so often to reflect on his achievements, and think about his revolution. Sunset was the best time for this, as it was one of the few times during the day when the world was literally golden. A God had to recognize beauty, and Light Yagami most certainly did that. He was wearing a pair of light brown slacks and his black sweater, nothing more; he wasn’t meeting anybody, so he didn’t really need to impress, but his hair was combed nonetheless. Just in case.
As he approached his favorite bench, he noticed that somebody else was sitting there. A black-haired girl, sitting calmly and seeming to take in the sunset. Apparently, he was not the only person who needed a little moment of peace today, but as he got closer he recognized her. It was Izumi, his fellow teacher and, if he said so himself, quite a beautiful girl, if a bit on the snarky side. It put a smile on his face; he would be able to see two beauties for one walk.
“Izumi,” he said, and stopped when he was next to the bench, opposite from where she was sitting. “I didn’t expect to see you here. Are you watching the sunset?” he asked, even though it was quite obvious that she was.

She hadn't noticed him at first because she was spaced out. Evil was lost in a whirl of thoughts that were completely random since she had not one true thing to think about. But it soon came to her attention at the sound of approaching footsteps. Evil blinked softly and her thoughts scattered away. Lifting her head her sable eyes shifted slowly to see who was coming toward her. She instantly reconized him as a high school teacher, the math teacher. What was his name again? She had heard it so many times, how could she forget? Yagami,Light...yes? What a strange name...She put on a very small smile of greeting as he moved to the bench she was sitting on. What? Was he going to talk to her?
Evil wondered if something fun had finally come along. Would she finally be entertained? By something other then the pure silence that had surrounded her for so long today? Evil hadn't ever spoken to Light all that much before and didn't know him too well. She guessed this would be some sort of time to get to know him better. Evil needed to socialize a bit, anyways. She gave a small yawn and covered her mouth when she did. It wasn't like she had anything better to do right now. Her eyes shifted back over to him as he stopped next to the bench. He spoke her last name and it made her blink softly. "Yes...? How are you today...Light-san?"
He asked a rather obvious question but she knew he was just trying to start talk. Evil wondered why he wanted to talk to her anyways. Was she so interesting? But she decided to play along and start a conversation with him. "Yes, I am. It's a lovely time of day...the last light before darkness." Her eyes shifted toward the sky, "so, what're you doing out here, then?"

Light looked Evil in the eyes as she spoke, those strange coal-black eyes that were like two extra pools of her hair. He liked people’s eyes, because they always reflected the person inside, but she seemed to hide something behind them. At first they seemed to him mostly bored and a little irritated, but he had seen a few glitters lurking just under the surface once or twice. They interested him a little; he liked learning about people, sure, but he didn’t particularly care enough about them to make him go out of his way. Fortunately, he didn’t have to go out of his way at all to see them today. He was normally not a fan or surprises, but the little ones like this weren’t bad. It was a nice coincidence at the end of what was a decidedly average day for him.
“Same thing as you are, I came for the sunset,” he said, looking off towards the orange-red skyline. “It’s the only time when the world is really gold, I think. The perfect time for a walk.” He paused for a moment, staring ahead with a little smirk, and then turned his attention back to Evil and her black eyes. For once, he was at a loss for conversation; he didn’t know this girl that well, so he couldn’t think of anything to talk about. There were very few things he even wanted to bring up, actually, since there wasn’t much that he had to say to her. Or anything at all, really, he just liked her eyes because they were like a mystery, and he greatly enjoyed cracking open a mystery.

Light seemed so intent on her eyes and it made Evil rather curious. Her eyes never really gave off emotions, that was mostly her posture. But her posture now showed she was just relaxed and enjoying the scene around her. Her eyes were cold and hid her true emotions behind them. Her dark optics would stare back at his copper ones intently as they tried to break into his mind. What was Light thinking right now? She wanted to know because of how intent he was on looking into her eyes. Evil knew Light was the math teacher so he was probably one to love to figure out puzzles. Well, she could be quite a puzzle. She wondered if he could figure her out. She would, in return, try and figure him out, too. It would be a fun game while it lasted.
"Ah, the same thing? That's interesting," Evil responded and broke their gaze. She turned her eyes back up to the gold sky. "That is true...the world is such a lovely gold color this time of day. As if it were in the heavens, no? Anybody who walked out at this time of day must feel like a God." Her eyes shifted to him and she gave him a grin, "or a Godess, depending on the gender. Me, I don't really walk out for that...it's just an interesting thought. I just enjoy the colors. It relaxes me after a hard day of little kids running everywhere. Why don't you sit down? I don't know you very well so maybe now we can get to know each other more?"

Light searched her eyes, and glanced at the rest of her, noting how she seemed to be telling one story with her body and another with her eyes. This was interesting, perhaps there was more than one mystery in this girl he could unearth? That sounded like fun. He was always open to playing his little mind-games with new people. And she was another of his coworkers, too. How many of the local teachers had something he could play with, anyways? First Misa, then the librarian, then his own assistant… hell, he could probably find a few skeletons from his father, if he wanted to. Despite his thoughts, he smiled, and graciously sat down on the opposite side of the bench, crossing one leg over the other and looking at the sky. The sunset really did make him feel like a God, as she had said, though in Light’s case he felt like that all the time.
“Thank you, Izumi. It would be nice to get to know you, the only teachers I’ve really befriended so far are Misa, Matsuda, and that librarian.” He wasn’t manipulating his words at all yet, merely opening the conversation; the games could come once they had both established the playing field, as well as assessed their opponents. Assuming, of course, that she was receptive to playing with him; he never knew, she could just be acting friendly.
He looked at her and chuckled. “I’ll never know how you stand taking care of fourth-graders. They’re always so hyperactive, it’s a wonder you can get people that young to even sit down and listen.” If he started the conversation talking about her, then the conversation would continue pulling onto the topic of her, and maybe that would give him an opening.

"Sure, sure" Evil merely responded to him at his thanks. She wouldn't have cared if he said no and kept going. She had just been a bit friendly since he was a mere aquaintance. Maybe he could tell her a bit about Kuro? Her eyes glimmered a bit with darkness. That would be such a treat to her for him to speak to her about Kuro. But he probably didn't know her too well. Kuro hated males and she figured they all avoided her. All except one man she keeps hearing Kuro whine about. Evil was actually rather interested in learning about this man...she didn't recall a name.
"They're rather annoying," Evil replied, rolling her eyes a bit. She couldn't stand kids. How had she gotten a job like this? "I think I would've prefered high school seniors, almost mature adults." She gave a small smile, "but little kids don't know what they're doing. They're too little to really understand that all their trouble causes adults gray hair. I don't think anything I teach them even goes into their ears." She crossed her arms and sighed a bit, shaking her head. There was really nothing she could do with those rowdy kids she taught.

This woman was pretty amusing. It was a good thing she was being friendly with him, he would like to learn more about her. But then again, that went for anybody he found interesting, or had an irreverent attitude. He had no time to hear the random mumblings of a lonely office worker or a disgruntled police officer, because people who defined themselves were always dull. It was the contradictions, the anomalies he liked. The schoolteacher who disliked children, for example. She was friendly enough, polite, knew how to have a conversation, and had some attention-grabbing things to say as well. That was enough to pick at his curiosity a little.
“I have to agree,” he said, breathing out and looking off toward the sunset. “But high schoolers cause adults gray hair, know that it does, and do it anyways. In a lot of ways, that’s worse than a little kid, because they know exactly how to do it. Besides, you can’t really send a seventeen-year-old to sit in the corner, can you?” He looked over at her, and thought for a moment on how he could turn that statement towards her again. “In some ways, it could even be said that you have it easy. The kids you have are naïve, and will believe what you say—if they’re listening. But if you dislike children so much, why did you become a teacher?”
