That The Girl Has Love.. Alias;; Nerine Haruka ;; Cassandra Haruka Name;; Cassandra Yulia Age;; Nineteen Gender;; Female Hair: A deep bronze flowing down past her shoulders in various styles Eyes: Hazel A dark shade of emerald with a soft light of hope and passion Height;; 5' 9" Weight;; 122lbs Ethnicity;; Japanese/Half-American Location;; Japan Occupation;; Third Year College Student/In-Training Nurse
Physical Description;; Medium lengthened bronze colored hair falls passed her shoulders holding a calm yet edgy look from the casual disarray style. Fair skin glows gently in the sun's ever extending light. Her bright yet overly emotional and still guarded emerald eyes look outward toward the world that has betrayed her trust and taken the lives of her loved ones, but only before it gave her the love of her life and a friendship which she adores. Her soft curves of a well-made hour glass shape are often covered with the shades of black or a perfect mimicking of Misa Amane while she's playing the role of Nerine. Her clothing has slowly began changing much more toward being her older style of classy clothing which includes fitted button up shirts and dress slacks. Though she is not highly athletic, her figure doesn't suffer in the least instead she keeps fit with tennis and simply avoiding just laying around in her home.
Her expressions are normally more guarded or false while her voice is also laced with a cheerfulness while pretending to be Nerine. While her true voice seems to have at one time lost the ability to feel as much as she had before after seeing much death in her life though the voice has regained its beauty and even been able to voice a laughter. If any emotion touches her true voice only one man hears it that man is the one which she hopes to one day even marry, Light Yagami. With him, it is common for her expressions to now hold truth to them when her cheeks flair from embarrassment or she giggles aloud.
Personality;; Her personality is cut into three sections. There is Cassandra, Nerine, and the in-between.
Nerine is seen as a bubbly, sweet, yet polite young lady who never really wants to deal with people's problems. She can be very flirtatious and a bit of a center stage lover. Never too shy but not too hyper just cheerfully oblivious is how one might describe her.
The in-between is used for tight fixes and usually around the task force or at times Light's family. This personality really has changed from what she once used it for. It now seems to be more like Cassandra without an explosion of drama and lacking her views on Kira completely. The in-between self was reformed to use at the time when Light had disappeared during the Kira investigation when L had taken him and Misa into custody.
Cassandra is far different from Nerine as if the were impossible for her to pretend to be the bubbly little princess. Sever depression runs her actions toward an attempted suicide along with the unopened home and scatter of pictures cluttering her room. Obsession with the past and her mistakes rule her more than the overwhelming depression. The obsession to never let go of her fiancee and never leave that night alone. The obsession to never let scars heal and always open the wounds. She is also very broken. Her heart seems to have been taken out but still connected, so she is inclined to live and bleed for anyone who is willing to take her into their arms, if just for a moment.
Over the past year, Cassandra's personality has changed dramatically. The transition from being a completely depressed woman with no will or even a slight wanting to move forward, aside from Kira, to actually enjoying life and being completely and absolutely in love with the man of her dreams instead of dreaming of the fallen. She had become a woman who can fearlessly smile at the face of her enemy while gripping the hand of her savior and lover. A cheerful giggle of bliss can escape her lips at times, and she can speak of hope for a brighter future, golden world.
History;; Her parents had met in a strange yet casual way. The two had been at a skating ring nearby where her father, who was on duty in the Air Force, was staying. He decided to take a break and ended up meeting the cute Japanese fresh graduate. The two were inseparable by the sixth date alone and were married in five months. Her mother was a very blissful woman who never seemed to stop loving. Her name was Nerine. She always smiled even in the worst of times to make people know that there was never anything to fear. Even in childbirth when her body had been too weak to last afterward, she smiled hoping for her husband to take care of their beautiful little Cassandra. When she passed on, her father had promised to do just that. Her father had been kind hearted and loving. He even took young Cassandra to the Southern states in which her mother always loved. Things were full of bliss until he fell for an exotic dancer at a local club. She simply used him for his good business which effected Cassandra's views on people at once. She believed at once that people always tried to steal your money if you had some and wanted to stay at your place. The young girl was hated by the woman even after her father married with the dancer. She detested the man's child for the sole reason that she would grow up to look as beautiful as Nerine, who had and always would be the man in her new husband's heart, and that she will always be a reminder to the man that he loved one before her.
So now the five year old, Cassandra had been the type to over achieve all her life to avoid being anything like the dancer slut her father married. Striving for perfection was already her life at the tender age where children were supposed to play and laugh, it wasn't unusual for a parent to push their children for success, but the way her parents didn't even care left her to hate her childhood. Learning how to read had become her goal before entering school, her time to play with toys and such was a shorten to a small amount of time until she had no time for such things but even when she had all of the games had to have educational value.
Being raised in that manner, she often felt inclined to strive for inner perfection as well. This strive lead her to hate her self and family. She eventually yet slowly gained a friend and the two had equal ideas and love for a common goal. However when the two girls entered the fifth grade, Cassandra began noticing her friend slowly distance herself until she committed suicide. Learning later that her friend's mother had told the girl that her life was meaningless and that she would make the world a better place if she didn't exist just because the woman was getting away with her husband's murder and wanted the money for herself. Cassandra was enraged, but her age and authority made her actions limited to merely nothing.
The young girl continued to grow keeping a wall between herself and others. It took her a while, but she finally met someone in junior school. The two at once seemed to become close fairly quickly until Cassandra almost called her a best friend and a worthy companion. After a stupid fight, Cassie found the girl trying to lay her hands on her. The teenager would not have this. In moments, the female who she had once called a friend was laying before her broken and bruised cursing her as she build up her walls once again. Her step-mother had been waiting for her explosive temper to put her in trouble. This was the chance to ship her off to a private academy in Quebec.
Her freshman year to the ending of her Junior year had been full of no important events, of course she had skipped her Sophomore year from her high marks and honors, however, most of the teachers held a distaste for her as well as the students. She flourished in the solitude until her Senior year when she met a boy who openly smiled toward her and gave his name as, Darren, along with him came his friend Vincent and Vincent's girlfriend, Juliet.
Confused yet interested, Cassandra was dragged into this odd group. A religious woman who had fallen for a die-hard Kira supporter, the star athlete of their academy and this strange little outcast girl made a strange friendship circle. The group seemed to constantly pull her into an odd world of parties and laughter where people felt and loved, where people are actually people with so many emotions that they're real and not painted faces that laugh at the weak. It didn't take long for her to laugh at Darren's jabs at her being so tiny to Juliet's grinning at her possible crushes even to Vinny's in depth conversations on Kira's work. Though Juliet often attempted to convince her that her love for Kira was unjust, Cassandra denied her best friend's thoughts claiming that Kira would be the savior of a dying world. Juliet eventually was able to use her own looming death against the girl asking that if Kira were god why would he kill a woman who never committed a crime while only the real God would have a reason to take her life.
Eventually, Juliet passed on from her spreading cancer. Cassandra's fear for hospitals began as she cried that night in her empty room staring at the boxes that had began being packed to send back to Juliet's parents. Vincent had a worse reaction. With the death of his girlfriend, he broke the law and drank himself silly then made things worse by being stupid enough to get behind the wheel. At that same time, Cassandra had been pulled from her room by Darren where the two were caught by Vincent. The reeving car sped toward Cassandra as she understood exactly what was about to happen before Darren's strong arms wrapped around her pushing her over fully where he nearly had his leg broken by the tire of Vinny's car. The blaze left by the car was mourned along with Juliet's passing. That group of four was now down to two. Only Cassandra and Darren were left to wait for the clock to tick downward for who would die next.
Darren and her were returning from a graduation party--which happened to be in Japan since the Senior vote ended up almost all voting for the famous country--once he had confessed his increasing adoration for her. She had wanted to show him the home where her mother had lived, the mother that she always had loved to hear about even after her father fell into darkness. The mother who seemed to have pushed her on. But the two were attacked.
With a gun pulled to them, her friend handed over his wallet pleading for the man not to hurt Cassandra. The girl begged for him not to waste his time defending her, but when the gun was pointed at her head, her friend began emptying his pockets onto the ground for the thief with tearful eyes. "Just let her go." Pushing Cassandra onto the ground, the criminal shot toward her out of spite laughing. Her friend, and once possible lover, took the shots and with his last bit of strength he made the man drop his gun onto the ground along with pushing himself over the criminal.
Cassandra scrambled for the weapon and as the man moved her friend's corpse, he found the barrel of a gun bashing into his skull. She beat him with the weapon until his face was bloody and bruised then as he rose pushing her backward she fired shots into the thief with shaking hands until he was dead and covered in blood.
In shock she realized that she had just taken a life in such a brutal fashion. Sitting on the ground, she opened Darren's cell phone calling to report the deaths of her best friend and the thief. Then she spent a few moments taking in the incident, it was painted in her mind forever now. The blood stains would never wash from her hands or at least they wouldn't in her mind. She couldn't take being caught or questioned and fled the another region of Japan--while the other students returned to Quebec. It was read on the news soon afterward that it collided with another flight. Ironically, Cassandra was laughing and crying at the same time. Her step-mother had now been taken to Hell as well as her father, but the innocent people on the plane were also taken away to a place different from their loved ones. She was said to have died on the plane wreck as well and with no loved ones to claim her belongings, she disappeared.
In Japan, she used what she had learned in high school about the language and culture. Using an alias, she became known to most as "Nerine" which was a perfectly fine name, after all it was her mother's. She then began to attend a college near where the Kira investigation first started with L's broadcast. She would now try one thing to save this rotten soul of hers. Cassandra wanted to find Kira..and help him or her which their goal to create a beautiful world, however, she was still wounded with a bleeding heart and unstable masks. Cassandra was afraid--that she might slip, and lose the two years she had worked so hard.
Upon her first year, she was confronted by an interesting task. To deliver a love letter to a man named, Light Yagami, she had never once met the man nor did she plan on flirting like most giddy girls did around this man. Instead, she decided to go give him the letter similar to the type she received daily from admiring men and women of their college. Though, their meeting was odd. His assumption was that the letter belonged to her while it didn't and before the end of the meeting wanted to know what she was 'hiding'. A simple hand gesture being too elegant tipped him off on the disguise.
He became interested in her and exactly who she was working for to investigate him, while she was actually working for no one and not investigating this boy who believed the world revolved around him. Cassandra captured him on photographs or sent him notes each time she noticed his eyes glued upon her. She was a tad creped out when he went as far as to attend an illegal party, which she forced him to dance closely with her at in order for the two of them to speak privately. During this time, she happened to have a minor reoccurring memory rocket up causing her to leave to the restroom to calm herself while he pocketed her wallet pretending he had drank some of the alcoholic punch. That act lead to her to agreeing to take him home which ended up giving him a chance to hear about her views on Kira which had briefly been agreement with him though by the end of it, she had learned the boy hadn't had a drop. The information was found out when she leaned upward past the spot on his shirt and actually could scent his breath from the closeness, which he was awed of the act. Thus, she tells him to run to play detective with someone else expecting him to leave her life since she caught him, which only left him wanting more of the challenge. Using her wallet, Light slipped off to her apartment. The woman had been so startled by a guest that she slit her hand open washing dishes. A weak smile graced her lips before she collapsed to the man that was in utter shock at the woman who had an obvious fear of blood. Luckily, Light was able to keep her conscious long enough to make a slight bandage from his clothing before he was forced to carry her outside to be taken away for proper treatment. He hadn't a clue what he had gotten himself into.
Cassandra crossed the courtyard the following day bursting with rage before being confronted with an outrageous story of how Light had been actually infatuated with her. This lead them into beginning a false relationship which looked so beautiful yet was actually much worse. During an embrace, they spat acid at one another while appearing completely harmlessly in love. Though, the bronze haired woman gave Light a wake up call with a nice slap across the face which left a bruise. This forced him into giving her one week to prove she wasn't out to destroy him. The first day was simply a fun day of her making him a small lunch to make up for slapping him, though she was still laughing at the bruise. He was now careful about her hands which she ironically fed him. Though the two of them underhandedly held a whole conversation on the views of Kira referring to that as a 'recipe' which worked wonderfully for this makeshift bond. That night she decides they must talk about it. That was the same time that Mogi caught her with him while watching the man. Cassandra and Light spoke over coffee about their views in a private section where they gained a whole new outlook on one another yet nothing to say sparks are flying, or it is love. The outing was put to an end by the waitress knocking coffee in Cassandra's lap which ended with the two leaving together glad they had spoken in that manner.
The day to follow was a soft unwinder where the two simply milk their false relationship. Cassandra actually ended up falling asleep on his lap. Light was forced to listen to Ryuk's remarks yet the 'couple' still had an interesting conversation about flying apples later on. On the Thursday of their final week together, Cassandra had decided to take photographs to use for future reference. The two had an interesting setting and look completely authentic in their couple statues. It was interesting for the two of them to enjoy their day taking images and laughing like actual lovers. Their final day together was cut short by cheering. During their usual courtyard fun, the college students had decided to have their own fun. The false couple was forced into an honest kiss which left both of them a bit muddled about what was going on. Cassandra was disgusted by how far their lies had went and eventually decided that it should end but she couldn't end it. Traveling to Light's house for yet another night, Cassandra spoke with him privately threatening to go to his door if he didn't come outside to see her. The two had an in depth conversation which was an agreement to keep the relationship going until it would hurt neither reputation to break it.
Soon afterward, Cassandra was confronted with events neither of them had planned from L's return to Misa's arrival. Dumbfounded by his real girlfriend being Misa when he claimed to not know her personally, the woman went sour over this. She sulked after his leave from school until she couldn't take it and went to his home only to learn he wasn't there.
Nearly a year of boredom passed as she waited helping out the Yagami family and becoming closer friends with his younger sister, but the day came when Light returned. Their conversations seemed odd. The two hadn't a clue how to exactly respond to one another after the time gap where he was against his foe. It was awkward but eventually he began growing accustom to the fact that she was now like another member of his family even going against her usual false act of not wanting to deal with problems other than her own. The day ended with her attempting to calm him knowing of a friend of his being taken from him which she believed was someone close, not knowing the man was actually L.
The night dragged onto a new day when she finally confessed to what she had learned. The obvious pieces to a puzzle he gave to her nearly on a silver platter had been aligned. Cassandra Yulia had learned the truth. Light Yagami was Kira. It was whispering in her mind for nearly a year and had to rush to the surface which he was startled to learn. It took a moment for him to catch things though he did, and she was left in his hands like a twirling ballet dancer. She would spin and spin until he gripped the winding key and ripped it out. He had her life at his disposal, for he was her God.
Eventually, she realized he wasn't going to kill her and had no intentions on changing his plans. She continued living life becoming his close friend before, on a day she could never forget, she met this ghostly figure. Meeting Ryuk was worse than anything she could imagine. It had taken a ton of courage to keep her voice down even if she trembled at the sight of the beast. Though she was able to find a common grounding with the shinigami when she promised to keep things interesting even though she'd now be a part of the chessboard. Of course, Cassandra was currently playing the bishop for her king. A perfect part, she'd easily sway into place in front to defend him if harm were to befall upon him.
It was a marvelous setting. She had done the impossible in the future. Destroying Misa Amane's position as the queen was too simple. Though the reasoning wasn't to simply rid the king of his queen in some twisted betrayal. No, no. Cassandra was protecting him from the woman as Light finally broke his false relationship, now having what was merely a pawn's position without her notebook, leaving her sobbing like a spoiled child who lost their favorite toy. Good riddance.
That pretty little black notebook was given to her as a morbid birthday present when she turned nineteen. Oh, it was wonderful to take the beautiful thing in her hands and cradle the weapon God used. She was the perfect guardian now. Things would be splendid. Cassandra believed in herself to be the perfect bishop for her king. She wasn't allowed to use the notebook constantly though, only if Light needed her. It was a fair agreement, for then at least. Things sadly, weren't going to be wonderful for long.
The terrible day drifted upon her. Darren's death was haunting worse than usual. Thundering voices crashed into her mind that night when she curled up taking pain killers until everything was numb. It wasn't healthy, but when was the healthy? Especially that day, the night swooped down knocking her off her feet before she was in tears standing up at the window looking at the darkened city. Though, she had luckily phoned Light before then giving him this strong sense that she was in need. The king played prince charming and rushed inside ripping her from the window. There was no sound as she drifted off into a silent sleep snugged up to his warm chest while shivering from the haunts as they slowly slacked nearly disappearing all together that night. From that moment onward, her king wouldn't dare leave her the time to harm herself or his mental health again.
Cassandra was no fool. Her emotions were building to a breaking point with each day. The laughter, the smile, those chocolate brown eyes, she wanted it all every day. It was like a constant life line to be around Light. Without him, she'd still close her eyes and keep his conversations in her thoughts. It was growing into this boarder lining obsession, though she wasn't cutting locks of his hair or taking DNA samples. She was simply caught up in him so greatly that one day--as all things do--she came to a breaking point.
Her lips against his was enough, but she followed through with her soft confession. Staring at his stunned gaze for but a moment, the woman rushed away into the darkness yet again. The rain soaked the warm coat of his that he had draped over her shoulders during their conversation long enough to just have been too close with his soaked tan skin and lingering gentle nature. She had to have taken the chance, and she still enjoys taking it. Given a chance, she'd do it over and over again. It was a dream come true soon afterward. Becoming the queen was too wonderful to deny. Being the girlfriend of Light Yagami was something she had only dreamed off in her wildest fantasies. This was the greatest joy she had ever felt when the two began their dating(for real this time). Cassandra wasn't just at the stage of those silly words such as 'crush' or 'sweet heart', with her, she had already passed those about two years ago. It seemed like this was just finalizing their relationship to the world. What a pleasure it was.
Currently, she still lives in her single apartment. Cassandra still laughs with the Yagami family, still smiles at the silly shinigami, still walks the halls of the university. She still does those things she had become accustomed to with being in Japan--now nearing her final year for her medical studies. Life, to say the least, is absolutely perfect. It couldn't get any better with her place being directly at Light's side agreeing to help him as much as the can to create that beautiful world for the future.
RP Sample;;
It was obvious. Of course it was. He should resent many things. Less so her words, and more so her in general. She had part of her aching and craving to state that simple fact to him to keep him on his toes about this rocky road he wanted to drive down so recklessly. This road of, as she detested ever so much, friendship. Honestly, she didn't dislike Light. Oh, on the contrary, she found him to be a wonderful human being and an even more wondrous God. Light Yagami was someone who could stand at her level then above it at the same time while still seeming as fragile and breakable as a porcelain heart suspended over a snapping sarcophagus with large gapping blades of steel. Alright, possibly not as fragile as that. Maybe the analogy fit better with her feelings on this friendship's survival chances. Such a pessimistic woman she was. Even so, she was willing and ready to protect this man with her very existence as if being wasn't good enough anymore. She needed to be perfection and his guardian. That was her goal. More than being a best friend. She needed to be his protector. If they weren't like two peas in a pod, it might make things more difficult, so becoming his other half(in a strictly non-romantic way) might make things easier.
His words made her heart slow. Did he honestly not understand the problem clearly screaming in his words? He must have noticed that death overruled all of the objections he had in his statements of someone finding out or thinking they've found out that he was Kira. She wanted to grab him roughly by the shoulders and shake him until his head rolled about where he was dizzy enough to just say 'Yes, of course, I believe you.' or something of the sort instead of his constant displays of pure stupidity which she would rather see used in front of his little task force junkies to not let them believe he is as gifted as he is, but knows that his role as L causes him to be better than the true one, not that she doesn't find the thought of him as L a bit disheartening, but not completely disgraceful since being both allows his job as Kira to be a piece of strawberry cheesecake.
"Of course, I'm not easily defeated, but neither are you." Her deep emerald eyes held a shine from the nearby lamp which allowed that enchanting smile to be ever more so. Cassandra was a beautiful young woman. Denying it would be wrong, but of course, if one didn't wish to find someone attractive they might be able to avoid the feelings someone like her gave most. She could made a business man do a double take while she ran in the morning. She could force her fellow students who were supposed to be in happy relationships to doubt their lovers when she gave it her all in sports during physical education, which sometimes caused her to catch the eyes of females during the locker room visits. Even during her walks in the park, she had caught his eye at the moment he caught hers, no not in a romantic way, but there was a spark. She captured him with her words instead of her beauty. And yet again, she held him hostage with those words. It was wonderful to have a power without truly realizing it. After all, it wasn't as if she were trying to make Light care for her in romantic ways.
Calm down? Did he actually just tell completely calm and composed her to calm down? She was so sarcastic sometimes. She took a soft shaken breath before letting her frown become a gentle expression. Of course she had startled him by rambling off medical situations and trying to help him instead of completely calming him, which would be the smartest thing. His responses made her heart ache. He barely said anything to help her assess the problem and only went toward what he wanted. True, he was correct that everything should be calm, as she had stated before. Cassandra looked at his dim smile returning her own in a half-hearted apology. "Forgive me. My main focus was your health first, since that is the focus point of you being here." A tiny peg in her mind mocked him. This isn't a slumber party, Light. I won't paint your nails and gossip with you. But that part of her was tiny and possibly just wanted a real smile which didn't appear instead she simply pushed that part of her mind into a corner and stabbed it with a knife.
Oh, now that was interesting. He didn't feel safe around her and wanted her to retell every answer and argument they had build up from the beginning of the night. She took a soft breath looking down a bit not toward the keys currently between her breasts beneath the thin black cotton shirt but toward the carpet which was stained with bleach from his blood dripping onto it. Her breath had calmed as she cooled her mind enough to look up into his eyes with her shining emerald. Of course she was passionate about this. She shifted her weight to her knees as she remained knelt before him like a perfect follower. Hesitating, she reached her hand out toward his taking in within her own two pale and cooled ones. Her head tilted upward looking at him still. She paused then spoke.
"Light, I don't mind repeating myself to you, but please listen this time. I don't want to set this up for another argument between us. I have my views on this whole situation, but we need to take care of you as quickly as possible. You've been through quite a lot.." Allowed her eyes to drift from his toward his hand between hers that she will refuse to release the warmth of it, or might lie and say she would. "All of it because of me. You're past week must have been an utter Hell, since I appeared in your life. However.." Cassandra looked up upward toward him swallowing down her pride and ready to act on her hope of being his protector. "If after tonight we can find a common ground and become friends, I would enjoy being in your life as a friend." The words had to come out sooner or later, so why not this soon? She had to tell him, and now she had.
Those eyes closed lightly before she began speaking of the new stressful topic that might cause a quarrel between the two of them if they were to be too deep or not deep enough considering she was trying to convince him not to leave. "The first problem is clearly that I caused your injury and, to my own disgust, planned parts of it. I did this to you with terrible intentions, and being a sinner I wish to atone for my sin, if God allows me." Said without opening her eyes but did so to allow that shine to reach them as she continued. "The next is that you are in no position to drive, refuse to allow me to drive for fear of either your task force or Miss Amane finding me though I pose no threat to either then, of course, checking you into a hospital would require my name being signed in and I wouldn't leave until I was sure you were completely safe which would defeat the purpose." Cassandra knew exactly how to make sense with a sensible person, so that remained her focus to make him feel safe with her as safe as he truly was and always would be near her. "The following would be that you have no where else to go to have yourself treated correctly. Miss Amane might attempt to rush you to the hospital, but you would have already removed the bandage and lost more blood again which would only injure you. The task force would make it painful for the bandages and risk more blood loss plus bring up problems with how the event happened. Staying here keeps the questions from popping up while giving you and I time to make up a valid excuse for your injury." A tiny smile played across her face before she spoke the next part as if she were honestly happy about voicing such things. "And finally, this will be my act of friendship to finally make up for all of the terrible things I've done ever since we met and to finally allow you to become closer if you allow me the same privilege by letting me treat you in my home. This is supposed to build a relationship between us from ultimate trust since I now know your secret as you know mine."
Cassandra's tiny smile grew a tad as she spoke one last time. "Good enough to convince you this time around?"
