Evil returned the smile to him as he looked back at her. But was startled when he lifted her onto his back. Evil blinked and clung onto him quickly - afraid she was going to fall. "Where are we going, Haru?" She asked as she rested her chin on his shoulder. Her body was relaxed now from the scare and her eyes closed as she thought it'd be a good idea to sleep. The baby loved to suck the energy out of her in this month of pregnancy. When she woke up she'd probably be groggy and irritable. A courtesy of having her hormones messing with her. Haru would soon have to understand that her attitude toward him would be either be because he deserved it or because she was on the angry side of her emotion scale from hormones. She tried to keep her breasts off his back for the fact they were tender. Though it made it hard to stay on him while she was also trying to keep off him.
Soon the clear skies became dark and Evil - who had just awoken from a long nap - felt a sense of dread fill her. Ignoring the tenderness she pressed herself close to Haru. Her eyes grew wide with a nervous look to them. Her nose picked up the scent of rain and the storm was not going to be pretty. The flashes of lightning startled her and she hid her face in the back of his neck. Evil didn't like being on the outside when she felt so vulnderable. Even the noise called thunder caused her to shiver a bit with worry. Usually she was fine with storms and loved to be out in them. But something told her it was better now that she sheltered herself. Her Izumi instincts were telling her she should find a nice, stable shelter and stick around it until her child came into the world. It made her compare herself to the animal called the wolf - who found a den and raised her young in it. The Izumi instincts and the wolf's instinct could be related to each other. Evil found them both similar. She wondered if she and Haru would settle down somewhere if her instincts became too overwhelming or if he'd drag her.
Haru had ran to a mountain...oh no...oh no...no no no no no no....Evil wondered if he had lost his mind. Everyone knew the mountains belonged to the Hatsu! Her eyes grew wide her terror as he moved into the mountains. Izumi hated mountains! If he went too high she wouldn't be able to get enough oxygen! Evil tried to keep her panicked mind under control. Was this what it felt like to be a mother? Would she be like this all throughout her motherhood? She had to say...she didn't like it...
Haru found a cave and took them into it just before the storm caught them and started. Evil was relieved she was not in the downpour but not at all happy either. Haru had brought them into enemy territory! What if the Hatsu found them? She shifted uncomfortably once she was set down on the floor. Her dark eyes watched him intently as he build them a fire. Once it was built and Haru was sitting, Evil went over to leaned against him - joining him. When she was asked what was on her mind, she had too much to really say.
"You're aware....that this is Hatsu land...right?" She whispered, eyes darting around. "The Izumi's worst enemy...It's not safe here." She huddled closer to him, looking around as she did. He would protect her...Haru would protect her...

The Hatsu land? ... "Oh, true..." Haru murmured to himself as he glanced around the cave. "Yeah, I knew that this was the Hatsu land." Well, he knew now... he hadn't really thought of it to begin with. Oops. "It'll be alright," he said with a yawn and he laid back. "We'll be out before they even realize we're here," he said in an attempt to sooth Evil's worries, "besides, we're barely off the ground in this cave and the border to the lands isn't but a mile or so away. We're fine." With that he brushed off the worry and gave a loud yawn while he wriggled his toes. It felt weird not to have shoes on after a such a long run... but his feet ached and he was tired. It was time for sleep.
Wrapping an arm about Evil, Haru pulled the female close to him and gave her a gentle kiss on the side of her head. "We'll sleep for a while and leave as soon as we have enough energy," Haru said, "it's bad to be out in the open like that in such a storm, anyways," Haru said. "I'd much rather face a Hatsu than be out in freezing rain." Nuzzling her softly, Haru closed his eyes and smiled a bit. "If a Hatsu does show up, I'll beat the snot out of him. Those big girl thingy-cats don't scare me the least bit," he said with a wide grin. "They won't be a match for me."

Evil was reassured by him as he gave her affection. She felt soothed and safe. So much safer that she began to purr and rested her head on him. Haru would protect her. He wasn't scare of the Hatsu. That was good, because if they were found and killed, he would die without fear. Evil - on the other hand- would probably die with a look of terror. Her high instincts right now would cause her to go into a maddened rage that - once it failed - would go straight to fear. But she was happy that Haru would be brave for them both. When the baby was born, the instincts would be replaced by a new set of instincts. When she was a mother, Evil figured she would be fearless. She couldn't fear anything with a little tyke running around. She would have to be brave and hold her ground to protect him or her. She couldn't wait for that to happen. She wanted to be fearless again.
"Hmm," Evil murmured and smiled, closing her eyes and drifting. She hoped to have good dreams while she slept. The comforting warmth of the fire and another beings body was good enough to cause it to happen. It put her to sleep quickly - being with a companion. She was used to be restless for a long time. She was suddenly very glad not to be alone...
