2nd month
She was 2 months pregnant now - not much of a difference. Except for she hadn't seen anything of Haru since the day she had yelled at him and left the inn in a fit of rage. Evil had nearly frozen to death that night and had dreamed that she had froze to death. The thought scared her and she now stuck close to a village, no matter how many stares she got. No matter how many insults. Evil had cried a few days ago, which was a huge bummer on her part. She had tried to never cry anymore - but sometimes it was just too hard to resist. Her mind had lingered back to the night she had yelled after he had said what he had. How she had gotten so angry at him for saying something so harsh because it was obvious. While thinking about it, the feelings of it all had come crashing down on her in such a rush she hadn't been able to control herself. She figured it was because of how tired she got because of the baby. It loved to just suck all the energy out of her...It also loved to make her puke, too. Aw, the lovely morning sickness that came with being only 2 months pregnant. She wondered how big her little 'bundle of joy' was now.
But because of her baby - Evil looked like a one of those beautiful models or whatever. Her body was changing and the fat had yet to come in. She had a more voluptuous chest now - good for her! The only con that just had to come with her new curvy body was that her breasts were so tender. Evil hated touching them and ever time she did she would groan with pain. Someone ran into her once and she had yelped rather loud. She was surprised the whole world hadn't heard her as she had a fit due to the pain. Evil wanted her old breasts back...having this sucked. But she still couldn't get over the fact of looking so curvy. That had been week 9 of pregnancy.
Week 10 had started her roller coaster of emotional insanity. Her emotions were so touchy now that one minute she was ok and the next she was down in the dumps or pissed. She had even lashed out at a guy and cursed him out before kicking him in a rather bad place and storming off just because he had accidently touched her. Evil had later tried to find him to apologize but he was no where to be found. So she did feel kind of bad for that event. She couldn't help it it was now time for her hormones to be raging and trying to make her kill everyone.
Evil was now sitting on week 11 of her pregnancy. Because of it she had headaches. She had one right now as she stood outside a store and rubbed her forehead. Everything was sort of quiet right now. Hardly anyone was passing by on the streets. Evil groaned softly and spat out a silent curse. She wished it would all just be over already. Why was pregnancy so hard already? She was only 2 months! If it was this bad now, she could only imagine how the other 7 months of it were going to be. The mere thought of it made her want to throw herself on the ground and give up.
She was not alone as she stayed there, leaned against the wall. It was another cold night and she had goosebumps on her skin. Evil was shivering and the breeze was not making it any better on her. She became slightly aware of a presence watching her and began to look around. "...Hello...?"
"Hello there," came the response from a guy as he stepped out. One look and smell of him and Evil knew he was a pure blood. For a split second she had thought he was Haru - coming back for her. But that was a long lost hope. "You seem cold - I'll keep you warm, if you want. I have a room now far from here."
Evil rolled her eyes, realizing it was one of them. One of the demons who didn't mind screwing a half breed because they were easy to get. All a pure blood had to do was say 'let's go' and the half breed had to listen - or suffer. "Sorry, I have a baby to take care of currently." She pointed at her stomach, "no risky actions."
"A half breed - pregnant?" He chuckled, "wonder what sorry pure blood did that. Or was it another halfy?" He moved toward her, grabbing her arm gently, "where's its daddy at?"
"Gone," Evil replied, narrowing her eyes at him. "Do not touch me. I'm not interested."
"No daddy for it...? Then there's no point in it being alive," the demon male watched her, then grinned. "Kill it."
" ...What?"
"It's an order from a pure blood, kill it."
"No! Get away from me!" Evil pushed him away but he kept a hold of her wrist. "Let go of me! Let me go!" She felt the marking on her right palm begin to burn and then a sudden pain in her head. Evil gasped and fell to her knees, grabbing her head with her free hand and groaning. "Stop it...leave me alone...I'm not killing my baby just because you said so!" She growled as best she could as the Demon's Way marking slowly ate at her mind. Killing her and the baby both.

He had been kicked out... again! Why the hell was he always the one to get thrown out on his ass when some drunken fool decided he wanted to pick a fight. All he had done was protect himself, and it had only cost them three chairs, a table, and several glasses. Haru rolled his eyes and picked himself up off the ground. Haru brushed himself off, muttering about how people were to biased about demons now-a-days. "I should burn the fucking place to the ground," Haru growled through his teeth as he straightened his clothes, "then piss on the ashes." That was that, though, and he had no intent of coming back to the place.
"Bastards."
Turning on his heel, Haru started down the street with his jacket pulled close around him. More curses slipped through his chattering teeth, but those died down after a while of walking. As of now, though, he found himself in an interesting part of town. Half-naked broads were calling him into the alleyways, curling their fingers towards him, and winking their seductive eyes. For a moment he thought about answering one of their calls, but right now wasn't the time - the time wasn't anywhere near being reached. Something about Evil had really pinned him, the bitch. His eyes softened a bit and he looked towards the ground. Maybe they could've been something. He kinda felt a sort of affection towards her, but why should he - a pure blood - tie himself to a mutt? He growled at himself, a low growl that rumbled deep in his throat.
He had looked for her a few days after she had disappeared, after her had time to clear his mind and think on her a bit... and that's also when he decided he had a bit of an affinity towards her. He huffed and kicked at an empty whiskey flask. Stupid drunks.
He had been away from the bad part of town for a while now when a familiar scent upon the wind touched his nose. "Evil?" He said aloud, suddenly perking up. She was here? "She wouldn't care to see me, though," Haru muttered to himself and continued on. But something got the best of him, and a few moments later he was on his way towards the woman.
When she came into his sites, Haru stopped. Evil was on her knees, on the ground, next to a pure blood who had quite a hold on her wrist. A deep growl emanated from his chest and his lips curled back to reveal white teeth. Flexing his fingers, Haru moved towards the pair with a dark look in his eyes. When close enough, Haru snatched the male's wrist and yanked it in an unnatural direction. "Drop her," Haru hissed through clenched teeth, "she belongs to me." He narrowed his eyes, grabbed the male's shirt, and shoved him backwards. "Don't ever touch her again."

Evil struggled and whimpered as the pain got worse with her struggling. She was killing herself - she realized this - but she didn't want to give into him. She didn't want this pure blood to think he could get the best of her just because he was a full demon. Her fangs bared and she jerked backwards, "let me go!" The pain was slowly becoming unbearable and her eyes were starting to blurr on and off as her unhappy struggle weakened. If she got too weak, he could easily take advantage of her. Evil didn't know what to do. If she attacked him - she could be chased by the council and killed. There was nothing too much she could do to actually live. Unless she gave into him and let him do what he wished. But that was far from happening on her watch.
A deep growl caught her sensitive ears (pregnancy had sharpened her senses, too. That was some other pro...and she often wondered how and why it did it.) and Evil turned her head. The male was yanked away from her and the pain stopped, causing Evil to draw in a deep breath and gasp it out. A familar voice was ringing in her ears, but where had she heard it before? Her mind cleared slowly but surely and when the thought came to mind - her heart almost stopped beating. "Haru..." Why was he here? Why was he saving her? Again. She hated that she probably owed him a lot of damn favors now. Great.
The male looked at Haru and blinked, watching the Izumi. "Ah, then you must be the father, aren't you?" He looked toward Evil and smirked. The both of them were a joke. A big joke. It was amusing enough for him to forget about what he wanted from Evil. Why would he want it from something like her? A half breed that had gotten impregnated by a pure blood on accident. "Remember what I told you." He was not giving her a way out of that order, though. He wanted her to suffer.
The male looked back toward Haru and stepped away, "I'll be on my way, then..." And with that he turned and strolled off, smirking. He was trying not to laugh.
Evil just sat there for the longest time in silence, looking down at her hands and shaking. Why was Haru here? Shouldn't he be out with some other woman- messing up her life, too? Her overemotional hormones started to pour into her and she began to shudder. Her eyes closed tightly and she regained control over her emotions quickly. Then she stood up and rubbed her wrist, looking at Haru.
"What do you want, Haru?" Her voice was cold - but her expression was far from it. Her expression showed wonder and curiousity. Why had he come back to her? What kept drawing the two together like this. Really, by her words, she meant 'why did you come and save me again?' Evil stepped back and leaned against the wall. Her headache had gotten a bit worse from the struggling. Evil felt like she might need a glass of water.

"I don't know what I want," Haru confessed as he watched the other male stroll away. "I just gave everything up for you." Now he'd be seen as pathetic amongst the demons. Too pathetic to get a real mate. Demitri wouldn't be happy about this, it would tarnish his name as well... being the brother of a demon who impregnated a half-breed. The thought made him smile. Oh, he'd be so pissed! Haru suddenly broke out in a fit of laughter. He was laughing so hard his sides hurt and he head to lean against a wall.
After a time he quieted down to the point where a small fit of laughter would rattle him every few moments or so. "God damn I'm such a pathetic bastard," Haru said with a foolish grin still plastered on his face. He slid down into a sitting position and rested his hands on his knees. Looking at Evil, Haru simply shook his head. "Run while you can," he said, the grin spreading wider, "'cause soon you'll be stuck with me." He started laughing again, but soon calmed down and let out a heavy sigh. "So, how are the two of you?" Haru asked, arching a brow. "You know," he suddenly said, standing, "I think you owe me an apology for the way you acted the last time we met up." He crossed his arms and frowned. "I really don't think I deserved such treatment."
Haru shook his head and sighed a bit. "Look," he started and rubbed his chin a bit, "I said I'd be here to help you with the kid. I want to help... but I need to know if you're gonna let me help or not, or if you're just going to keep storming off in fits of rage whenever something goes sour." He cocked a brow and waited for a reply... but before he could get one he spoke up again. "I also think we should try each other out... not in that sense - well, I mean we already have - but the point I'm trying to get across is this: how about we try this whole... 'dating' nonsense, hm? It's not like we have anything more to lose over doing such a thing." His eyes searched her face for a few moments. "But it's something I'll be new to." And with that, he waited for her reply. He felt like a nervous wreck.

He just gave everything up for her...Evil watched him quietly, tempted to tell him he didn't have to. He didn't have to let the big secret out. He could've just let her die and the secret would've been kept forever. Yet he hadn't. He had saved her and just revealed he was the father of her unborn baby. So he had just made himself the most pathetic pure blood in the world....and he was laughing? Evil blinked in surprise as the Izumi male burst into a fit of laughter and leaned against the wall. She wondered if he was ok and actually backed away from him with wide eyes. Had he just snapped? Had this sudden realization that everything for him was ruined suck away his insanity? She stayed a good few feet away from him as he sank to the ground and kept laughing every now and then. She was tempted to run away - just like he had just told her to do. Run away or else she was going to be stuck with him. Stuck with him? What was wrong with him suddenly? She could've swore it was clear the two needed to stay away from each other. Every time they were near each other...bad things happened.
He finally seemed to calm down and he asked how she was doing, and how the baby was doing. "...I-I'm fine..." she replied, "except for the normal unhappy pregnancy things that are happening..." She looked down at her stomach and touched it, "and junior is ok, too. Growing and causing me a lot of grief already..." She shook her head and sighed softly. He wondered if he'd notice her breasts swelled...and were going to get bigger....and more tender. She promised herself if he touched them - he would die. But he was suddenly standing and demanding she apologize for how she had treated him. Instantly, Evil refused to apologize for it. That was the one thing she would never apologize for. She would apologize for any other instance before it - but she would never apologize for that one time. In his mind he may not have deserved it, but in her mind - he had. He had needed it. Evil was not going to ever apologize for something he needed.
He had started on his whole 'I want to help' speech again and Evil felt like rolling her eyes and sighing. Couldn't he just drop it already? The two were over (even though they'd never had anything to be over with.) Evil really didn't want to listen it anymore. But as he quieted and she began her protest against him - which probably would've ended up in some fight - he cut her off. What he said next made her head spin and her knees buckle to where she almost fell down. Luckily she had the wall she was leaning against to hold her. Had he just said 'dating'!? He wanted....to date her?
Evil stared at him for the longest time, thinking about it. She had wanted this - she realized - secretly. She had wanted to give him a chance. But was it a good idea? Evil wasn't so sure anymore. A frown crossed her lips as she felt she didn't know what to say. He looked so...so...like he really wanted to try. He really wanted to give it a chance. So after a while she sighed and shook her head. "You're crazy." Her dark eyes shifted up and met his, then she lifted one finger, holding it so he could see it very clearly. "One chance. I will give you one chance. That is it, am I clear?" She watched him closely, "but I will gladly try this 'dating' thing with you, Haru. It will be new for us both." She tried to offer him a small smile.

She didn't seem very excited about the notion... but she had accepted his offer. His eyes focused on her one finger and he nodded. "One chance," he repeated quietly. One chance. Haru ran his fingers through his hair and sighed a bit. His eyes shifted towards the ground before closing. He was quiet for a while. Dead quiet. She - of all demons - was one of the last people to ever tell him how many chances he got. Really now, if he wanted, he could get as many chances as he wanted, but it wasn't exactly in Haru's nature to force things upon people.
He took Evil's hand gently in his and brought it close to his face. "I won't screw it up," he said with a smile as he gently presses his lips to the soft skin on the back of her hand. He missed the feel of her skin, the smell of her hair... everything about her. Wrapping an arm about her, Haru pulled Evil's still slender body against his and pressed his lips gently to hers. "I promise."

It was very quiet after a while once Haru had repeated what she had said. One chance. That was all she felt she was obligated to give him before saying 'fuck it' and confirming they wouldn't work out. But Evil really wanted to give him this chance because it would be wonderful if the baby to come had a father that actually got along -maybe even loved- its mother. The thought of ever wanting or gaining a mate had never crossed her mind before. She wasn't sure how this was all going to work. Then when the baby was born - how would the birth go, for one? Then how...how the hell did she take care of it? Evil didn't know anybody well or anybody with children to help her. She was going to be completely alone in this.
Well, she may not be alone. Haru had promised to help her. With a male at her side - and a full blood Izumi at that - Evil would gain more rights as a person. With him with her she could access things that normally females could not get to. Humans females, Evil didn't see how they lived with such limited freedom. In the Izumi clan it was the female gender that was dominant. All the Izumi males just tended to be lazy and did whatever the females wanted them to do. It was better then getting your face ripped off when their tempers went crazy and getting a potful of nasty words spat at you.
Back to about raising her baby to be, Evil figured there was one person she could speak to. Then she could observe women on the streets in the towns and such. That would be her plan for learning some on raising. Then, what about childbirth? Would there be some instinct to tell her about it? Evil had never thought about these things until now. Now she was suddenly feeling panicked as she realized just how ignorant she was about children. Did Haru know anything helpful? Probably not. He was a male who had never had a child and had never had a long-term relationship at that. Also just for the fact he was a male. Women were expected to take care of the children - at least in the human world.
Haru took her head and kissed the back of it, causing her cheeks to turn a slight tint of red. He claimed he wouldn't screw it up. She hoped he didn't. Then he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her against him - kissing her gently. This affection made her heart begin to beat faster and her cheeks to grow darker. He promised. He promised not to screw it up. She hoped he kept that promise. "Good," she replied, leaning forward and kissing him. It was nice to feel his familiar lips against her own. "I won't like it if you do." She was serious about that, but she was also teasing him. Giving him a smile as she did. Her head rested against his shoulder and she gave a soft purr. Maybe she could have a happy, meaningful life after all...

This was quite different. Very different. Suddenly he was bound to someone with words and feelings. Instantly the coward in him wanted to run. Haru had known something like this might come along some day, and now was the time... he had to face up to it, especially since he had been the one to make the offer. He was a soon-to-be-father as well. Haru ran his fingers through her dark hair as her head rested upon his shoulder. "I won't mess it up," he murmured. He was repeating it a lot, not exactly sure why he was doing so. Maybe he was trying to make sure he wasn't lying... and he wasn't... right?
Leaning back to look at her face, Haru offered her a small smile. "I say we get out of here and go do something." Haru reached up and brushed his fingertips against her tinted cheeks. "It's not exactly a nice place here," he said, referring to the situation he had just broken up between Evil and the male. The thought of the demon caused the Izumi to bristle a bit, but he shook his head. He'd kill the bastard if he came around Evil again.
Gently taking her hand, Haru lead Evil down the street and out of the village. When the clean air of the wide open touched his nose a happier mood settled upon the male's shoulders and a brighter smile accompanied his face. Since his last encounter with Evil, Haru had been able to add some weight to his coin purse - now he was carrying around a small fortune, and because of that he had been a big target for pick-pockets and other thieves. Getting out of the town had been a good idea - for the both of them.

I pray you don't mess this up...this baby really needs a father. And maybe...maybe I really do need a lover... At least a companion. She was so unhappy alone since she felt the urge for acceptance and socializing. Haru would make a good lover if the two of them could drop bad habits and stop fighting. But there was a lingering fear inside of Evil that it would be messed up. She was only giving him one chance. If he messed up - her heart could end up in shatters. If she grew to care very deeply about him before he messed it up. Evil held this fear and she didn't know what to do with it. Should she have said no to him? But he had seemed like he really wanted to try...
"Do something like what?" Evil asked as his fingertips brushed against her cheek. "Can't do much, you know. I don't want to take a risk of killing what's already growing." Her eyes shifted down toward her stomach. She had decided against killing it some time ago. If things hadn't gone like this, she probably would've ended up dumping the child on someone. Then that someone could've either killed it or raised it. But apparently it was stuck with her and Haru now. She wasn't too thrilled over being a mother but she couldn't say she was unhappy. Now that she had some form of support it was all going to be ok now. At least she hoped it was all going to be ok. It had to be all ok...had to be...if things went wrong, then Evil felt like she'd be screwed. And not in the good way.
He took her hand and she followed obediently up until they reached the edge of the village. There she tensed up and stopped for a moment. Her mind lingered back to the night where she had left and then almost froze to death. Fear had entered her dark eyes for a split second when she had stopped. She didn't want to take such a chance again. But Haru was with her this time, she had company. It was going to be ok now. She and the little one wouldn't freeze with company. So getting over the fear, Evil followed out where the clear air was. It sort of lightened her up and gave her a bounce of energy. She soon had a small bounce in her step and her eyes grew eager. So, this was going to be her new life, was it? She hoped it ended well.

Out in the open once again was such a joy to Haru. He hated villages, but, oddly enough, often found himself in them. He contradicted himself so often... but now wasn't the time to linger on such thoughts. It was supposed to be a happy now - it was him and Evil now, and he was highly optimistic about it. Maybe something in his life would actually work out right. Glancing back at her Haru smiled at the site of her sudden energy. He laced his fingers with hers and pulled her body close to his back. Leaning over, Haru wrapped his arms behind her legs and quickly hoisted her up onto his back. "If you're tired you can sleep," he said, "I've a place in mind at it will take a while to get there."
After a while of walking the clear skies were suddenly gone and a thick blanket of angry, churning clouds hovered in the horizon. Deep growls of thunder were carried upon a strong breath from the storm, and flashes of lightening could be seen in the distance. Haru stopped and watched the tempest for a few moments, his sooty hair writhing helplessly within the wind. It would be a strong storm, and where the two were now wouldn't protect them from its fury at all. He was standing in the middle of a very flat expanse of land whose grass just reached his knees. The Izumi frowned and looked around. A mountain range rose out of the earth to the west, maybe shelter was available there. So, quickly, Haru sprinted towards the jagged peaks. He hadn't a moment to spare, for now it was a race between him and the storm to the mountains.
Moments before the torrential downpour Haru had found a small cave in which to shelter the two of them in until the storm passed. Outside the winds howled, thunder roared, and lightening whipped across the sky, leaving seams of purple within the black blanket of clouds. Now beneath shelter, Haru set Evil down on the floor and looked about. It seemed someone had been in here recently... maybe they had missed the inhabitant by a day? He moved carefully into the shadows, his senses sharp. The scent was fading, and it seemed the area had been abandoned quite rapidly. "Wonder what spooked them," Haru murmured to himself as he came across a bundle of dry sticks. "Ah!" He exclaimed with a smile. "Just our luck." Gathering the pile Haru returned to Evil's side and began to make a fire. Within moments a strong flame was blazing, scorching the stone on which it sat. "That's nice," purred Haru, who was sitting close to the fire with his bare feet held close to the flame.
His dark eyes shifted towards Evil and he watched her quietly for a few moments. "What's on your mind?" He asked, a soft smile coming to his lips.
