THE INTRODUCTORY !
“Art is a real bang!” – Deidara.
Name: Deidara
Name Meaning:
Alias Names: Exploding Artist, Deidara-senpai, Dei, DeiDei-chan, Dei-chan
Age: 19
Gender: xy (…I think.)
Birth Village:
Current Village: None
Rank: Missing Nin
Occupation: Akatsuki
THE FIRST IMPRESSION !
Hair Color & Style: His hair is a nice gold blonde color with bands in an arch shape going down over his left eye, concealing the little scope he has below. The bangs covering his eye go down just slightly past his chin, about an inch but no more and no less. The length of his hair goes just past his shoulder blade. A section of his hair is put up in a ponytail tied together with brown cloth. Some of his hair covers over the back of his headband and it is perfectly straight with no hints of even a wave.
Eye Color & Style: Deidara’s eyes are a rather beautiful color, a cloudy pale blue. His eyes are oval shaped with black going around it like Gaara’s but way thinner. Often they will hold a glimmer of a sadistic or mischievous look in them while he is playing with his bombs.
Height & Weight: 5’ 6” / 141 Ibs
Distinguishing Feature(s): The most abnormal feature you will find with Deidara – except for his appearance (-shot-) is that he has tongues on his palms. This feature is what helps make his art, his weapon.
Along with that you will also notice the Akatsuki nail polish that is one of their main symbols.
Also notice from past experiences that Deidara has lost both his arms, therefore he got them re-attached and one is completely fake. His arms have stitches in them where Kakuzu sewed them back on. Though his arms aren’t 100% anymore, they still work fine.
Clothing: Like all the Akatsuki, Deidara wears the signature Akatsuki cloak that just seems to always billow in the breeze...even when there is no breeze. He also, at times, may wear the hat that comes along with it. It's not been seen many times with the Akatsuki wearing their rice hats. This hat is only used to conceal their faces if required. He also has on the nail polish that all Akatsuki are required to wear. Deidara wears his Akatsuki ring on his right index finger. The meaning of his ring is 'blue.'
Under this attire is a fishnet shirt that is not 'girly' but 'practical' according to Deidara in hatakekelly's Deidara rant on DA. It is light-weight and cropped as well as a navy-blue color. His pants are what all the Akatsuki wear and they look like ski pants, to tell the truth. Then comes the black ninja sandals to top it all off.
Overall Appearance: Deidara, of course, looks young because well...he is. Deidara is the youngest member of the Akatsuki. He stands at 5' 6" and weighs a mere 141 pounds. His body is not skimpy but is also not buff, you could say it's somewhere in between. His skin isn't pale like the others and actually seems a bit more tannish.

Personality: Deidara is an individual who is quick to anger and being annoyed, otherwise known as a hot head or a spit fire. Deidara can be described as slightly sadistic though his main trait would be his love of art. Deidara will respect any kind of art, even if it disagrees with his own. He always ended Sasori's name with "no danna" out of a sign of respect for a fellow artist. The two often would argue about what art really is. But Deidara would openly admit that Sasori is stronger then he out of his respect toward him. Even though he respected Sasori, Deidara couldn't help but have a final jab at him after his death. Deidara has a habit of ending his sentences with a nasal "un" or "hm." In English, this can be translated to "yeah."
Deidara calls every clay creation he makes not ninjutsu but 'art.' In his eyes, each successful bomb is a significant piece of it. Deidara's art is "superflat" he says and he also says that "pop art" is dead. Deidara is highly proud of his art, so proud he's certain it could never be defeated. This often leads to him being overconfident, especially in battle. His catchphrase that is most popular to him is "Art is a bang!" You could say, though it's expected since he's so young, that Deidara is full of himself.
His second partner, Tobi, seems to be a total opposite of him. Deidara believes an Akatsuki should be serious at all times while Tobi is a carefree goofball. This often annoys him and causes him to attack Tobi in a comedic way. Tobi holds a respect for Deidara, a switch around from Sasori, it seems, and calls him 'senpai.' While out of battle it can be chaotic, in battle the two work fluently together and compliment each others abilities. Secretly, Deidara does have minor respect for Tobi. It's what will cause him to apologize to Tobi upon his death.

Special Clan Technique(s):
Kibaku Nendo. [ Exploding Clay. ]
These can take the form of birds for flight and exploding seeker birds and spiders. Withdrawing a bit of clay from his pouch, one of the mouths can consume the clay, imbue it with his explosive chakra and fashion it into a creature. Deidara can then make the item bigger after forming the necessary hand seals. He will retain control over the item and can decide what actions the clay art will take. The creature shown here is a spider type homing explosive. He has various other bird types as well, which can serve the same function. Those of searching out an enemy and getting near enough to it for him to release the explosive seal and cause detonation.
Tsukuyomi. [ Left Eye Genjutsu Dispell. ]
Deidara’s left eye is special. It’s an eye, and the only eye so far that has been known to be able to pass and escape even the strongest genjutsus created even by the Mengekyo Sharingan. During the Team Konoha / Akatsuki/ Team Hebi ARC Deidara showed its worth. After being defeated by Itachi in order to get into Akatsuki –which he opposed against – Deidara trained his left eye to never be fooled and plunged into a powerful genjutsu such as that again.
Jutsus:
Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu. [ Double Suicide Decapitation Technique. ]
Doton • Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. The ninja will travel through the ground to appear below their target. They will then surprise their target by then pulling them into the ground. Once in the ground their target is thus immobilized.
Dochuu Eigyo. [ Underground Fish Projection. ]
Doton • Dochuu Eigyo is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. Using the Oboro Bunshin, the Rain Genin use the clones to confuse their enemies and then hide within the earth. From the shadows of the clones, the actual ninja can then attack their target.
Retsudo Tenshou. [ Revolving Split Earth Palm. ]
Doton • Retsudo Tenshou is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. This technique allows the ninja to control nearby stone and rock. When the ninja forms the needed handseals and slams their palm to the ground, surrounding rock will begin to churn and twist up crushing all those trapped within it.
Doryuu Katsu. [ Earth Style Split. ]
Doton • Doryuu Katsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. The ninja will do the necessary hand seals, then place their hand to the ground. This will cause the earth to rise up and split apart. Once the ninja removes their hand from the ground, the earth parting will end.
C1 Bombs
In Deidara’s vast arsenal of clay and jutsu the C1 clay is of the weakest. On the rector scale of explosions, jutsus using their C1 clay is the smallest, but can be much more sufficient during tasks and missions that need skill for stealth and speed. The C1 explosive clay can be molded into explosive spiders, centipedes, and birds of in all sorts of varieties. They may be small but don’t be fooled they do vast explosions.
Kibaku Nendo Gumo. [ Exploding Clay Spiders. ]
Deidara’s main weapon, and a weapon that packs a punch. Using the mouths in the palms of his hands, Deidara lets them mold their clay into Spider sculptures to use to fight. When using this the figures start out small then expand in size, becoming bigger and then when ready. Deidara says the command ‘Katsu’ and the figures explode.
Kibaku Nendo Gyou Tori. [ Exploding Clay Seeker Birds. ]
Doing a set of hand seals Deidara members perform this jutsu just like the previous. The jutsu forms the clay in their hands sculpted together into the shape of a small swallow like bird, which will fly towards the opponent and explode on contact.
Kibaku Nendo Kobaku. [ Exploding Clay Small Explosion. ]
Creating small balls of clay with the mouths of his hands, Deidara then does a hand seal and sends the small balls of clay off towards the opponent. The command 'Katsu' making small and swift harmful explosions.
C2
Upping the standards on the explosive scale Aruchishiansu member’s C2 clay packs more of brutal blow. The strength from the C1 clay is doubled when put into the C2 clay explosions, causing it to make much larger blasts. Unlike the C1 clay that is better for swift and stealthy intended combat, the C2 clay cannot be hidden. The explosions entirely wipe out anything with in meters of it, while anything off in the distance gets damaged. This clay is more useful on enemies who already know you are there, not to mention it can be very helpful when under attack by more then one person.
Kibaku Nendo Daibaku. [ Exploding Clay Great Explosion. ]
Deidara creates a large ball of explosive clay and then throw it towards the opponent. Traveling at impressive speed the clay reaches the opponent and when told to explodes at their will the clay bursts into a massive outburst, devastating the surrounding area for meters.
Kibaku Nendo Unsou. [ Exploding Clay Transportation. ]
Engulfing themselves in their own explosive clay Deidara will disappear into the ground. Reappearing in a new location then Deidara sends the clay forward at the opponent, which explodes the moment it comes into contact. Leaving the enemy caught in a surprise explosion.
Jibaku Bushin. [ Suicide Bombing Clones. ]
High in skill Deidara can create the one unique bunshin without the use of his hands. The clay bunshin can ingest some of Deidara’s explosive clay and focus their chakra to that internal spot in their body. The chakra will activate the clay causing the bunshin to blow up in a violent explosion. The bunshin and explosion can also act as a decoy, allowing Deidara to escape from the enemy’s detection.
Kibaku Nendo Ninpu Tori. [ Exploding Clay Carrier Bird. ]
Being artists at heart Deidara uses his modeling clay to fashion animals which help them in combat. These can take the form of birds for flight and exploding seeker birds and spiders. Deidara possess two mouths in the palm of each hand. Withdrawing a bit of clay from their pouch, one of the mouths can consume the clay and fashion it into a creature. Deidara can then make the item bigger after forming the necessary hand seals they will retain control over the item and can decide what actions the clay art will take. This bird allows them to run recon over their target area. It is highly mobile and can allow them to drop other art on their targets below.
C3
Advancing once more in the explosions scale Deidara’s C3 clay packs an even bigger punch maybe double in the ranks of the damage his C2 clay can accomplish. Example of use of the C3 based clay was Sunagakure against Gaara when Deidara set out to capture the one tailed Bijuu Gaara, Deidara molded it into one of his bigger clay figures, only to find out after the explosion if Gaara did not stop ii the burst from his C3 clay would have leveled the entire village.
Tajuu Jibaku Bushin. [ Multiple Suicide Bombing Clones. ]
This technique creates 10 jibaku bushin and sends them after the opponent, all the bushin are full powered and under the control of the Aruchishiansu member’s C3 explosive clay.
Kibaku Nendo Tokusan Juuachi. [ Exploding Clay Specially 18. ]
Deidara's C3 clay takes the form of birds for flight and exploding seeker birds and spiders. Aruchishiansu members possess two mouths on the palm of each hand. Withdrawing a bit of clay from their pouch, one of the mouths can consume the clay and fashion it into a creature. Aruchishiansu members can then make the item bigger after forming the necessary hand seals. He will retain control over the item and can decide what actions the clay art will take. Aruchishiansu members possess a specialty jutsu, which can cause massive damage. Aruchishiansu members imbues their explosive art with their chakra, in this technique's case they imbue their clay model with their second most explosive chakra, called C3. After they send the model off, they can use a release command to detonate it. It is capable of leveling an entire village.
C4
Simply put this clay is deadly. Extremely deadly. When Deidara uses this there is slim chance of survival.
Karura. [ Garuda. ]
A giant doll shaped like Deidara. When it ruptures, a cloud of microscopic bombs is released. Impossible to be seen by normal people, the victims breathe in the bombs, which then enter the bloodstream. Once there, the countless micro-bombs explode, causing the victims' bodies to disintegrate at the cellular level, literally turning them into dust.
C0
Deidara’s strongest level of clay. When this clay is used the explosion kills anything in a 10 kilometer radius, then in result killing the user.
Kyukyoku Geijutsu. [ Ultimate Art. ]
Deidara's most powerful jutsu; a suicidal technique in which they eat a large ball of clay with the mouth on their chest. This consumes their entire body, condensing the body into a large black sphere with jagged teeth and pupil-less eyes. The sphere then opens up and detonates, destroying everything within a ten kilometer radius, and also killing the user them self.
THE ADDITIONAL INFO !
“ Like anything that is left for the future as a thing of eternal beauty... he got killed straight off.” – Deidara.
The Companions: Akatsuki
History: Deidara was originally from Iwagakure, although he readily abandoned the village for the opportunity of using his "art" more frequently as his village ridiculed him for it. Deidara became an assassin bomber for hire, not caring who he worked with so long as he could use his artwork. Sometime after Orochimaru left the organization Akatsuki, Deidara was located by Itachi Uchiha, Kisame Hoshigaki, and Sasori, who were under the orders of the leader Pain to recruit him. Although, at first, Deidara refused, he quickly got into a small confrontation with Itachi, where Itachi forced Deidara to join by almost fooling Deidara into killing himself with his own clay explosives via genjutsu. Deidara, having been forced into Akatsuki and taking a huge blow to his ego, carried a loathing for Itachi throughout all of his time in Akatsuki, though he was intelligent enough to recognize Itachi as a more powerful opponent.
Rescue Gaara arc
Deidara, when partnered with Sasori, traveled to Sunagakure to capture Gaara and extract the Shukaku within him. When they got inside the village, Deidara was greeted by the Fifth Kazekage himself, and the two began to fight. Deidara's left arm was destroyed during the fight. Despite the fact that he had lost one arm, Deidara still managed to defeat the Kazekage by using the safety of Gaara's village as a distraction. Deidara then took the unconscious Gaara out of the village where his partner — Sasori was waiting. The two Akatsuki members then took their captive to their hideout where they began the three day long jutsu to extract the Tailed Beast out of its host while Team 7, and Team Guy attempted their rescue operation. By the time they broke into the hideout, the jutsu was completed and Gaara was dead. Naruto was enraged and began to chase after Deidara with Kakashi following him, leaving Sasori to deal with Sakura and Chiyo.
In the chase, Deidara first tried to separate Kakashi from him and Naruto by dropping explosive clay. When the attempt failed, he simply went faster, baiting Naruto. When Kakashi revealed his Mangekyo Sharingan, destroying Deidara's right arm, Naruto finally caught up with him. Deidara dodged the attack Naruto threw towards him and Naruto's shadow clones managed to tear Deidara's clay creation(which held Gaara within it) apart. Naruto then proceeded to attack Deidara up but he only managed to destroy Deidara's Clay Clone. Deidara meanwhile hid himself and learned that Sasori was dead, killed by Sakura and Chiyo. Team Guy found out Deidara's hiding place with Neji's Byakyugan.
Outmatched and missing both arms, Deidara managed to escape by setting off another larger explosion by eating the clay of the remains of his clay bird (which Naruto had tore up earlier when he tried to save Gaara). Kakashi sent the explosion into another dimension using his Mangekyo Sharingan to protect the group. Deidara survived and went to find his missing arm and ring. He then became Tobi's new partner after Tobi retrieved Sasori's ring.
[edit] Deidara and Tobi events
Shortly after Deidara fought Gaara and the Ichibi was extracted, we see our first glimpse of the Tobi and Deidara dynamic. Tobi happened to be one of Zetsu's subordinates, following him around and constantly pestering him about joining the organization, Akatsuki. After the near-escape from Team Kakashi and Team Gai, Deidara manages to meet up with Zetsu and Tobi, wherein one of his arms lay on the forest floor. Tobi just so happens to take interest in it, and begins to prod and make fun of Deidara, who in turn tells him to be quiet. They begin an argument, where Zetsu advises Tobi to not push his luck. This being one of the funnier moments between the pair, Deidara jumps to strangling Tobi with his legs, since he's missing hands.
After seeing them together in a non-partnership for the first time, we first see them as a team in the manga. We know Deidara was assigned the Ichibi, and had successfully completed the mission. Sasori had been though to previously hold the mission of capturing the Sanbi, which would have been transferred to Tobi, but it's not certain. All that is certain is that Tobi had the task of obtaining the Sanbi for extraction. The Sanbi didn't have jinchuuriki and was looming out in the oceans free. Finding the Sanbi, Tobi really showed his true colors and seemed to not have any clues what to do. With some help and guidance from Deidara, via explosives, they managed to both take out the Sanbi, an argument ensuing. Tobi was so proud of himself, claiming he caught it all by himself, but Deidara clearly wasn't having any of that, so they argued about who really caught it. This is one of, if not the only, scene we see the partnership together prior to Deidara's untimely demise.
Example Post:
The black dusk befell over the lands of the Izumi, settling over the region as a blanket, smothering any light of the sun. The night twinkled softly, as the stars in the atmosphere shimmered. To complete such a scene, the moon was full. White light radiated from above, rays of moonlight shining down upon the lands. The plateau below looked so small, several different breeds of trees raised and clumped together. The small stream that ran through the lands, he followed. His destination was growing closer, or so he assumed. He was merely told she, his beloved, would reside within these lands. For years he'd been searching for her with such little hope, and now for once it finally seemed promising.
Far overhead and out of sight, Deidara sat upon his noble steed. He was told this is where she would be, and now he was determined to find her. Even if it meant he was forced to search for her for the entirety of his life, Deidara would devote himself to her any day. He was not a complete being without her. In years he had not seen his love, however, he could picture her clearly within his mind. His deep blue eyes closed. Her long ebony hair, her coal black eyes, her sharp almost canine teeth, her height, he could picture it all. He could not forget her seductive movements, the soft and soothing way she'd always comforted him, her enticing aroma, her passionate kisses. It was as if she were there right beside him. Deidara inhaled deeply through his nose, then opened his azure eye once more.
High above the ground, the wind whipped at his face and hair, clothes billowing in the breeze. Tightly, he gripped his faithful bird's nape and looked down below. Deidara squinted and his scope zoomed in to get a better view. The trees grew larger and details of the lands became clearer, bigger. He assumed that the Izumi lived somewhere near the water source as did beings anywhere did, but he did not spot any human life yet. Deidara sighed tiredly. Perhaps it would be easier to search on foot, although he was aware of the dangers that could be lurking within the forest. He, however, was a weapon of the Akatsuki. Considering his bombs and skills with combat, he figured that was enough. It might have been a foolish thing to do, but he was too blinded by his ambition to care.
Abruptly spotting a small clearing within the abundance and clumps of foliage, Deidara began descending quickly on his bird. The speed of the creature began to cease, and its wings only flapped occasionally. His steed slowly lowered to the moss-covered ground without a single sound. Patting his only means of transportation, Deidara slid down silently to avoid any crunch of leaves or a conspicuous snapping of a twig. His blue optic surveyed the clearing carefully. This could possibly end up an ambush, so he was careful to observe everything closely. Slowly, he drew a metal kunai from his pouch and gripped it tightly, though not offensively. Perhaps this was merely paranoia. However, despite his doubt, Deidara did not let his guard down. There seemed something suspicious of this specific region. He did not present any hint of apprehension, though. His calm demeanor remained, and not one even glimmer of fear radiated from his aura.
On cue, the beast beside him took off, rising within the night and quickly disappearing out of sight. Deidara glanced up to see his transportation to vanish, then turned back to to the forest surrounding him. His blue eyes slowly closed, ears open. For quite a few moments, Deidara listened to the familiar ambiance of the dark, nocturnal creatures awakening. He remained still for a few minutes, several thoughts running through his head. Perhaps if he called out, maybe someone would reply. Maybe she would reply. The song the two sang continuously to each other ran through his head. When he was desperate and searching, he would sing this to himself, savoring the cherished memories of the years together. If he was told correctly, the Izumi lived here, the docile and violent demons they could easily become if provoked right. If he desired to keep his life, he would have to remain calm and keep his wits with him.
His chest suddenly rumbled, vocal chords rattling. Deidara softly called out to the sky. "Despite the lies that you're making, your love is mine for the taking...." The words carried out into the wind, in which he hoped Yin would recieve. "My love is~just waiting~to turn your tears to roses..." His voice eventually rose in volume. The artist cried into the night. Perhaps this one time, this one time she would finally hear him. There was still a burning flame of hope within him that one day they would once more reunite. Deidara's worst fear had happened, he had lost the only one he would ever love. He promised himself now that if he were to find her, he would never ever let her go.
