Personality: Meitari is what no student wants to be... a constant victim. His shy, timid, and pacifistic nature makes him the avid target for bully attacks. He has been mugged, assaulted, robbed, molested, and once raped because of his small stature and his submissive personality. He is also homoseuxal, so he's the ideal innocent uke, a boy who would look good with cat ears on his head and is definently a lover of candies and sweets, which he really is. He's a bit of a child as well when he gets to know someone. He likes to play games such as hide and seek or tag and his little figure coupled with this makes people mistake him for an elementary student. However, despite this, he is rather smart, not A material, but good for a B.
Physical Description: As I've stated before, in his personality, Meitari's physical appearence is that of an elementary school child. He's short and petite enough to carry it off as well. His eyes are also taller then the normal teenager, giving him a very childish, innocent look as well. He'd probably look more like a girl if it wasn't for the fact that he does have a masculine figure and it's between rip and scrawny. Even though he looks like a child, he's still old enough to know how to take care of himself after all. His skin is pale, indicating that he doesn't get out in the sun much, but it's not exactly albino pale either. As far as clothing goes, he does wear boy's clothing and he does look better in boy's clothing, but it's usually more casual wear, nothing formal like a suit.
History: Before the time of L and Kira, before the great war for the world, was the time that Meitari Izushi was born. He was not born rich, but neither was he born into an abusive household either. His family was mediocre and they were happy with what they had, plenty of food and a few luxeries. His father was a very tall man and his mother had a medium height, so it was predicted that he would become tall. However, the predictions were wrong. For a few years going into his elementary school years, Meitari did grow. However, after that, he seemed to stop growing all together. His parents were distraught and brought him in to be examined, wondering what was going on. Meitari apparantly had a body condition. It wasn't too serious. All it would do was keep him from growing any taller, meaning he would be stuck in the body of a child for life, even when his skin would age and all that jazz... Yeah.

This condition made it hard for Meitari to adapt to higher grades. While in the lower grades it made sense for him to look like a kid, the higher grades came and many began to bother him, asking him things like what a kid was doing there and the likes. His appearence made him an easy target for bullies and harassers and his personality doubled it to extreme bullying chances. Middle school became a living hell as the bullying increased higher. Puberty also became a main issue as, even though he looked like a child, Meitari began experimenting with his sexuality and began looking up sites that most would not. But, of course, when he asked one of his "friends" on this issue, he found himself raped. It was a bit traumatizing at first, but he actually managed to turn it into his advantage. After telling his parents, after a big trial, after the checking of his STDs, after therapy, after all that stuff that helped him recover, Meitari was able to conclude that the boy had actually forced him to like it, but in a way he had already liked it, thus he was most likely gay. And as he actually held attractions for some guys, though he never really expressed his feeling to anyone, he concluded that he was indeed gay... and that that was most likely going to make life even worse.

When Kira vs. L began, Meitari actually did start out thinking Kira's intentions were good. But when he sought to kill L and anyone that would oppose him, Meitari's views changed. Getting rid of the bullying might be nice, but getting rid of the ones who protects people from bullies isn't. And he began to see that Kira was nothing more then a killer, an even bigger, more harsh bully, and his consciounce took a turn for the better in my opinion, the worse in the opinion of Kira lovers. Starting his first day of High School, Meitari Izushi is a supporter of L and his taken up the alias of Yakumo, his favorite character from an anime called School Rumble, to protect himself from Kira and his supporters.
